Dr. Jamillah Moore is a California educational leader who leads student affairs and enrollment activities at San Francisco State University. An advocate for educational access and equity, Dr. Jamillah Moore previously guided Cañada Community College in the South Bay and was vice-chancellor of educational services and planning with the San Mateo Community College District.
With a passion for research and supporting students, Dr. Moore has authored many papers. In her book Race and College Admission: A Case for Affirmative Action (McFarland, 2024), she delves into how educational policies have benefitted students from historically marginalized backgrounds.
A respected voice in her field, Dr. Moore received the California State University, Sacramento Distinguished Alumni Award in 2021, and the California State University, Channel Islands African American in Higher Education Achievement Award in 2014 and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Educators of the Year Award in 2018. Jamillah Moore holds a master’s in Intercultural Communication and Public Policy from California State University, Sacramento, and a doctoral degree in International and Multicultural Education earned at the University of San Francisco.
